Thanks for all of your support for KPC at our Development Permit hearing on June 17!

The Mayor and Council of the City of Kelowna unanimously approved the Development Permit for our new facility. Our sincere thanks to everyone for their support, including:

  • Mayor Tom Dyas, Councillor Ron Cannan, Councillor Maxine Dehart, Councillor Charlie Hodge, Councillor  Gord Lovegrove, Councillor Mohini Singh, Councillor Luke Stack, Councillor Rick Webber, and Councillor Loyal Wooldridge.
  • Valentina Trevino, Jason Issler, and all of the City of Kelowna staff.
  • Chris Little and everyone at Little Building Solutions.
  • Everyone who attended the meeting, wrote letters, spoke in support of the project, or otherwise helped us to get to the next stage for the new KPC facility.

We expect that fundraising can begin soon – please check back  for updates on how you can help!

Some of the important reasons to support the new Kelowna Paddle Centre facility include:

  • Everyone is welcome at the Kelowna Paddle Centre! 85% of visitors to KPC were non-members in 2024.
  • This spring we have over 1,100 students visiting KPC with school groups to experience paddling and learn about water safety.
  • Our summer camp programs provide great experiences for over 300 kids each summer.
  • Many past campers and other youth who grew up at KPC have become strong contributors to our community. This includes volunteers, teachers, coaches,  and many others making a positive impact within the City of Kelowna.
  • KPC is the most welcoming, accessible, and safe gateway to Okanagan Lake within our community.
