2025 Eric Mitchell Clinics & Lessons

June 4th to 11th at KPC

KPC is excited to welcome back expert outrigger canoe coach Eric Mitchell from Hawaii. Eric has over 30 years experience coaching, and KPC has adopted his signature paddling style as our club standard. Eric will be leading clinics and private lessons for OC6 and OC/V1.

From June 4 to 11, most of our regular 6:30am and 6pm classes will be paused in order to maximize opportunities to train with Eric.

All clinics are individual registrations. If you’d like to sign up with your crew, please coordinate to ensure everyone reserves space in the same session.

Early-Bird Clinics

Everyone is welcome to these great opportunities to learn from Eric! Register by June 1st for the best price.

  • OC6 Clinic
    • Wednesday June 4th from 5:30-7pm.
    • $20 per paddler until June 1st. $30 after.
  • OC6 Train-to-Race
    • Thursday June 5th from 7:30-9am.
    • $20 per paddler until June 1st. $30 after.
  • OC/V1 Club Clinic
    • Friday June 6th from 5:30-7pm.
    • $30 per paddler until June 1st. $40 after.

Learn to Paddle with Eric

  • Outrigger Academy
    • Tuesday June 10th from 5:30-7pm
    • $20 per paddler.
    • Novice to intermediate paddlers.

Extended OC6 Clinics on Saturday June 7th (3.5 hours, $60 per paddler)

OC6 Paddle Technique & Steering – 7:30am to 11:00am

This clinic is intended for OC6 paddlers interested in improving their paddling technique and steering skills. Paddlers should have sufficient experience to paddle cohesively with a crew  but do not need to be proficient steerspeople to enrol in this clinic.

OC6 Long Distance Racing – 3:30pm to 7:00pm

This clinic is intended for OC6 paddlers interested in building their skills and tactics for long distance racing. This includes deepwater changes for paddlers with sufficient strength and experience. Paddlers should have experience racing as part of an OC6 crew.

OC/V1 Performance Clinics (90 minutes, $60 per paddler)

These clinics are for OC1 & V1 paddlers. Up to three paddlers may register in each clinic. Eric will adapt the clinic to the specific paddlers enrolled.

60 Minute Sessions

  • $80/100/120 for 1/2/3 paddlers.
  • $180 for up to 2 OC6 crews.

    • Saturday June 7th – 12pm, 1pm, 2pm.
    • Monday June 9th – 2pm.

90-Minute Sessions

  • $120/150/180 for 1/2/3 OC/V1 paddlers
  • $270/$360 for 1/2 OC6 crews.

    • Friday June 6th – 4pm.
    • Sunday June 8th – 12, 1:30, 3:30, & 5pm.
