The Kelowna Paddle Centre is home to four styles of paddling – Outrigger Canoe, Surfski, Paddleboard, & Kayak. Read on to learn more about each style & our related programs.
Team Outrigger Canoes (OC6 & V12)
Our most popular boat with programs for all levels. Recreational and Senior OC6 classes are a great way to meet new people while enjoying time outdoors, while our Fitness and Performance classes offer a great workout. KPC is home to a number of competitive crews and we attend races in the Okanagan and on the BC coast every year.

Our Junior Racing Program is a great option for kids & teens.

Solo, Double, and Triple Outrigger Canoes (OC1/2 & V1/3)
OC1s are great if you want to paddle on your own schedule, get on the lake independently or with a friend, or are ready to try a faster boat that still offers some extra stability. We offer performance and fitness programs for OC1, and accreditation classes for members wanting to take out one of KPC’s outriggers.

Surfski
Our fastest boats are surfskis. These ultra light kayaks are aptly named – they ride fast on the water and are great for catching waves! We offer Learn-To, Fitness, and Performance surfski classes, plus accredited paddlers can opt to surfski during our kayak programs. Our trailer lets us organize downwinders when conditions are right and transport boats to the start of the run.
Remounting is a key skill for surfski – here’s a video tutorial for a suggested technique.

Paddleboard (SUP)
Paddleboard is is often the most familiar style of paddling for new visitors to KPC. It is popular among both guests and members as one of the easiest ways to get out on the water. Paddleboards are great for everything from racing, touring, yoga, or just laying out on the water. We offer paddleboard rentals, plus Recreational and Learn-To classes.

Kayak
Our fleet of sit-on kayaks provides the safest and easiest way to paddle at KPC. We have both solo and double boats so you can paddle on your own or with a friend. They also include deck-top storage for longer trips, picnics, fishing tackle, or other gear you might like to bring.
We offer kayak rentals in addition to Recreational and Seniors classes.
