We carry two different kinds of surfski kayaks at the Kelowna Paddle Centre: Epic boats and Think boats. The kind should paddle will depend a lot on your size and how you feel when you’re in the boat. Think boats generally tend to be used by average and smaller people due to the boat design while Epics are typically better for those that are taller or of bigger stature. Below are charts of the styles of boats we have by the above mentioned brands in the order of their stability level.

Outrigger Canoe

We have a variety of outrigger canoes at KPC that are designed to accommodate different types of and different types of weather conditions. Below are charts of the styles of boats we have and which one will be best suited for you.

Huki (OC1 – green)

Good for people of any size

Makia (OC1 – turquoise and yellow)

Good for people of any size

Fuse (OC1 – white)

Better for smaller people

Osprey (OC1 – blue and yellow)

Good for people of any size

Zephyr (OC1 – red and white)

Better for people that are bigger or taller)

Huki (OC2 – yellow or orange)

Good for people of any size

Stingray (OC2 – white or blue and white)

Good for people of any size

Tempest (OC2 – white)

Good for people of any size. Better for those with more experience.

SUP Boards

At KPC we have a number of different styles and sizes of stand up paddle boards and the one the one that is best for you will vary based on your experience. Below is a chart of the styles of boards we have and who they are best suited for.

Surftech 12″All-rounder best for beginners as well as those that are bigger or taller
Surftech 11″6All-rounder best for beginners as well as those that are bigger or taller
Surftech 10″6All-rounder best for beginners, average and smaller people, and those comfortable on 11″6 and 12″
Surftech 9″6All-rounder best for beginners, smaller people and kids, and those comfortable on 10″6, 11″6 and 12″
Bark & One BoardsBest for kids that have experience on SUPs or are in JRP
Twin Fish InflatablesBest for kids comfortable on SUPs but are not ready for race boards yet
PurelifeBest for those that are comfortable on SUPs but are not yet in the experienced area
SIC Race BoardsBest for experienced paddlers and for those comfortable with the paddle technique
StarboardBest for windy conditions and for  those comfortable and experienced in the wind
Kayaks

We have a fleet of sit-on kayaks available for rentals, plus Recreational and Seniors classes.
