I build these paddle boards using kiln dried western red cedar and the inner form from marine grade 1/4 inch plywood. The cedar strips are the same as used in cedar strip canoes. Once it is built then the entire board is covered with 6oz fibreglass cloth and three layers of epoxy resin and then three coats of spar varnish for UV and scratch protection. All the fittings used are the best quality I can source, these include the carrying handle, leash anchor, vent, adjustable and detachable fin and fin box, and the four cargo tie down anchors. I also include two blue 18×10 self adhesive hard foam traction pad pieces you can apply where you want them if you desire. Also included is a coil type leash. I do not include a paddle. This board is 11 foot 5 inches long and weighs approx 40 lb. This is brand new and located in Kamloops.
