2025 Junior Racing Program

Compete for the CORA Cup as part of the KPC crew!

Our 2025 Junior Racing Program runs from April 1st to September 28th and will be divided into three sessions.

The spring session for teens (athletes born 2009-2011) will be the foundation of the competitive season and includes 12 weeks of training plus 3-5 races. The focus will be 6-person Outrigger Canoe (OC6) in order to compete for the CORA Cup.

The spring kids program (athletes born 2012-2014) will cover multiple disciplines (SUP, surfski, & outrigger) with an emphasis on personal goals. The program will include racing in the KPC Waterman in June.

The KPC Junior Racing Program is best suited for those looking for an active start in paddling and an emphasis on personal performance. Junior Paddlers will enjoy a variety of on water and dry land activities which will allow them to progress their skills both individually and as part of a team.

Programs will be taught by NCCP certified coaches and include technical, tactical, and performance-focused instruction.

The Kelowna Paddle Centre is a non-profit society operating in cooperation with the City of Kelowna to provide our community safe, accessible paddling sports for families, individuals and competitors. KPC offers: annual membership, drop-in paddles, public programs for non-members and youth summer camps.

The Kelowna Paddle Centre is the easiest way for you to go paddling! Your membership gives you full access to everything you need to go paddling on Okanagan Lake. It also means you are a part of our growing community – whether you are a complete beginner or experienced competitor.

As a member you have access to the paddle centre, change rooms, showers, boat storage and KPC equipment from sunrise to sunset. You don’t have to buy a boat, store it (we do offer limited private boat storage), load it/unload it. Your membership makes enjoying our lake as easy as parking your car and going for a paddle. Memberships start March 1st and end February 28th.

No worries! Membership includes an introductory lesson, group classes and advanced coaching in Outrigger Canoe, Surfski Kayaks and on Stand Up Paddle Boards. Want to go further? We also offer private coaching, group paddles and local competitions.

Once you have completed our mandatory introductory session, KPC equipment is available on a first come basis for all members. Our inventory of equipment includes Outrigger Canoes (single, doubles and sixes), Surfski Kayaks (singles and doubles) and Stand Up Paddle boards (SUP), as well as life Jackets (PFD) and paddles. We continue to add new equipment and it is rare that members can’t paddle the boat they want when they want.

Members are able to bring friends and family for a small drop-in fee as guests as per our guest policy and safety guidelines.

Accredited members can paddle year round, while we do offer group lesson and private coaching from April through to October.

Members have access to the paddle centre, change rooms, showers, boat storage and club equipment from sunrise to sunset.

The KPC yearly membership runs from March 1st until February 28th. Membership dues are established on an annual basis by the Board of Directors. Membership dues are non-refundable.

Memberships are non-refundable, non-transferable and are to be used within the season they are purchased for.  Memberships are not valid until paid in full.

First time memberships may be eligible for a refund within 14 days of purchase if there has been no use of equipment or the facility during that time. There will be a $30.00 admin fee deducted for all refunds for unrecoverable costs to the paddle centre.
